Ordering repeat prescriptions

Please only order your medication when you are down to your last weeks’ worth of tablets. Requests raised earlier than this will not be processed until the 7 day period, save for exceptional circumstances.

The easiest ways to order repeat prescriptions are:

  • using the NHS App
  • using our online system
  • Submitting an online consultation and submitting a repeat prescription request.
  • Via our dedicated repeat prescription telephone line Mon-Fri 10.30am-11.30am at Hutton Rudby and 12.30pm-1.30pm at Mowbray House surgery. Please note our team cannot accept telephone request outside these times

Your online accounts show you all your repeat medicine and dosage and you can choose the ones you need. If the medications you require are not listed please submit an online consultation submitting a repeat prescription request detailing what you need.

You can also bring the paper form to the surgery during our opening hours.

We do not take repeat prescription requests via email.

Collecting your prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from our practice dispensary 3  working days after you have ordered it. If you are signed up for text messages are team will text you when its ready to collect. Some other nominated pharmacies require 5 working days.

Our Dispensary Opening Times are:

Mowbray House Surgery:

Monday to Friday: 8.30am–6.30pm
Saturday: 8.30am–12.00pm

Hutton Rudby Surgery

The dispensary is open 8am-12.30 and 1.30-6.30pm Monday to Friday.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

If you would like to speak to someone at the practice about your prescription then you can submit on online consultation or phone us during our opening hours.

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. We will be in touch when you need to come in for a review.

What to do with old medicines

Take it to our practice dispensary or you’re the nominated pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can offer advice on minor illnesses such as:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • sore throats
  • tummy trouble
  • aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard.
