Appointments

Our Care Navigators  help us give you the right care, at the right time, by the right person. Nowadays our Practice team is not just GPs and Nurses. We also have mental health workers, physiotherapists, pharmacist, social prescribers and many more. We don’t expect you to know about all these services, but our Care Navigators do.

To make, change or cancel  a routine appointment with a GP Nurse Practitioner or any other clinician:

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Home visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. They may also ask one of our paramedics to come and assess you at home.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Practice Extended Hours ( Better Access)

These appointments can be made at the desk or by telephone Monday to Friday during our opening hours

Evening and weekend appointments

We currently participate in the Better Access appointments being offered across the area. Numerous clinics are held throughout the week offering an increased availability for routine appointments for people living in our region. Patients registered at the GP practices across Hambleton can pre-book a routine primary care appointment between 6.30pm–8.00pm throughout the week and 9am–5pm on Saturdays. These appointments are manned by local GPs, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, pharmacists, nurses and healthcare assistants.  These appointments are at GP practices in the area and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.  This is not a walk in service so please speak to one of our reception team for more information on how to book these.
